Summer was a rather fast-paced tight-rope act. I worked at the Children's Discovery Museum as an assistant team leader for the environmental team. Four sessions and about 40 kids later saw me about 3k richer. Good thing, as that's all the money I'll have until next summer. I even went out and finally got myself a cell phone.

When I wasn't at work, I was with friends or on the computer. I still did my chores and whatnot, but of course it wasn't good enough for my mother. I can't recall how many times I stayed over with Dana, claiming to be with ~TheAvacado, but it was a lot. I didn't get caught until the last day, and didn't really get in trouble for it.

Orientation week was long and rather boring, but I was here and that much closer to leaving my parents. So many people here are forging their own way; I'm honored to know them. All the idiots are finally weeded out, so I don't have to deal with them. Classes are really easy, doing well in all of them. Art and Architecture of Japan, FYS, Intro to Literature, Intro to Japanese, Intermediate Weight Training, and Newspaper. I was basically kicked off the cross country team for not being fast enough. My back was giving me problems and hence I couldn't keep up with everyone else. I've decided to take the year off sports to let it get better and I'll be back in full force Sophomore year. The most active club I'm in is Japan club. We do something cultural every Wednesday night and watch a Japanese movie every Friday night.

I had Dana up here two weeks ago; he stayed for almost a week. It was great to see a loving face from home--oh, that's what I forgot. My mother's parting words were on the street corner outside the bookstore: "you're a horrible person." Needless to say, I've avoided her as best I can these past three months. Anyway, having Dana here was blissful. We even took a day trip to a local hot spring.

All in all, I'm happy in college. I'm finally becoming what I've been fighting to be for so many years--myself--without the interference of my controlling mother and apathetic father.

Cheers,
~AriSky

Hey, love! What is intermediate weight training? I would totally love to come up and visit you or you come down and visit me... what ever works, since we're both in college and whatnot. I totally swear that I'm working on the TFs and that horribly horrible Fruits Basket RP... and I have two letters waiting for me to stop being lazy to mail to you... needless to say my intro to business is so terribly, heart-wrenchingly boring... glad you're having fun up there!!

It's a step up from the regular weight training class. Basically, I get credits for coming in and working out, without the coach telling me what to lift and how to lift it. It'd be awesome to see you, but I'm rather lacking in money right now. Dana came up on the 16th and stayed for about a week and I paid for his motel room (rawr, bloody guest policies!).

I'm so sure you are! XD It's only been how many years now? lol

I need your address at school! I sent you mine in text form, didn't I? You sent it kinda early and I was out of it when I responded (and by early I mean that I usually don't get up before 10 on any given day).

Lol, yeah... life has been very demanding lately... I've just barely been able to write an article for the paper before election day!

Yeah, I have money... but I'm stuck in this "thing" where I keep having to buy all this crap for my computer... >.>

Um... well, my address is the same as it has been. I won't be moving until next school year, so as of right now, I'm still in the same place as I've been for years now! Yes, you did send me yours but, honestly, I think I deleted the text when I cleaned out my inbox on my phone.

I'm working on a few articles of my own right now, but being first year on paper staff makes getting interviews really difficult. I'll get through it, though. ^^

I'm doing okay with the money from my summer job now that I've slowed down having to spend, but there isn't much leeway.

I shall spam you with another text *gasp!*
